Kolkata: Two times champions and present champions ATK have began their practice for the upcoming football extravaganza i.e. ISL. After a series of closed door practices, the Kolkata club conducted their first open practice on Friday.

The giants returned to Kolkata from Debai after a vigorous pre-season training last week. Head coach Teddy Sheringham said that the pre-season training for the past 4-5 weeks had paid off as the team combination has improved and the Indian players have gelled well with the foreigners.

Sheringham accepts the challenge of coaching ATK and are happy with the recruitment of the Indian players who are currently enjoying and awaiting for the upcoming season.

ATK who recently defeated I-league based club Neroca FC 2-1 at a closed door game held at the Salt Lake Stadium as a practice before the main tournament is unwilling to play more practice games as the current defending champion’s target is the upcoming ISL.
