Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni seen biting his bat during Sunday night's IPL game against Delhi Capitals.

Xtra Time Web Desk: Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni was seen biting his bat in the dressing room during Sunday night’s IPL game against Delhi Capitals at DY Patil stadium. The veteran wicket keeper batter has this weird habit of biting his bat in the dressing room or in the dugout. He has been doing this since his days with the Indian team as he is very finicky about his bat.

Dhoni’s former teammate in Indian team Amit Mishra has finally revealed why exactly Dhoni often is seen chewing his bat. According to the leg spinner, Dhoni has this habit of biting the bat so as to ensure no single tape or thread comes out of the willow.

Amit Mishra tweeted, “In case you’re wondering why Dhoni often ‘eats’ his bat. He does that to remove tape of the bat as he likes his bat to be clean. You won’t see a single piece of tape or thread coming out of MS’s bat.”

Chennai Super Kings' talisman once again played the role of a finisher as he slammed 21 runs off just 8 balls. His knock comprised two sixes and four. Batting first CSK posted a daunting 209 runs. The bowlers then restricted Delhi Capitals batters to only 117 runs, thereby registering a comprehensive win by 91 runs. It was the second win for Dhoni as captain of the franchise ever since he took over mid-way in the season after Ravindra Jadeja decided to relinquish the post.
