Internet Desk: Indian shuttlers Saili Rane , Kuhoo Garg and Rohan Kapoor stole the show at the $10,000 Iceland International Badminton Tournament by winning the women’s singles and mixed doubles titles at Reykjavik on Sunday.
Fifth seeded Saili downed fellow Indian and fourth seed Vaishnavi Jakka Reddy 22-20, 21-12 in the final while the mixed doubles duo of Kuhoo and Rohan upset top seeded Danish pair of 16-21, 21-19, 21-18 in a grueling battle.
Kuhoo, 19, and Rohan, 20, clawed back into the 55-minute finale despite losing the first game and pushed the Danes in the next two games for the title. It is the second title that the mixed doubles pair has won in five months, having attained success at the Hellas Open International series in Greece.
Another Indian, Bodhit Joshi, however, faltered in the men’s singles losing to second seed Englishman Sam Parsons 21-14, 21-17.
