Kolkata: With just a few days remaining for the commencement of the I-League, city giant Mohun Bagan are all prepared to gear up for the mega league. Despite the team is not fully fit owing to a couple of injuries as well as 100% coordination is lacking, the Green and Maroon brigade are desperate to improve their game and begin their I-League campaign on a high note.

Mohun Bagan would be travelling to Punjab to play their first game of the league against Minerva Punjab on November 25th while the second game for the Kolkata outfits would be the most important derby scheduled to take place on December 3 at the Salt Lake stadium.

Today’s practice saw star defensive medio Yuta Kinowaki getting injured at practice. The Japanese midfielder who came on as a replacement for Katsumi Yusa was seen suffering from groin injury and had to leave field with the team physio. However the injury is not serious as Yuta is expected to be back in the field within a couple of days.

Mohun Bagan will be playing a practice game against Bhowanipur tomorrow at their home ground. Meanwhile Diego Ferreira said, “Wherever coach will play me in the team  I have to play. All I can say is I am a defensive midfielder”

Star Striker Dipanda Dicka who was the highest scorer in last season’s I-League is eager to score in the derby.

Haitian superstar Sony Norde who is the skipper of the squad said “We are not 100 percent prepared at the moment.  Kromah is yet to return and there are a few injury concerns as well.”

“I am not worried about derby. We have to start well in the season.” Sony added.
