Phil Foden is set to be rewarded with a new five-year contract by Manchester City when he turns 18-years-old in May.

Foden is one of the Premier League’s rising stars after playing a key role in England’s Under-17 World Cup triumph in October and breaking into the first-team at the Etihad this season.

The 17-year-old midfielder made his sixth senior appearance for City as a late substitute in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final win over Arsenal at Wembley.

t’s understood that Foden’s current deal that runs until 2020 is worth £20,000-a-week including bonuses, but he can expect to double that under the terms of the new contract.

City are keen to reward the Stockport-born player for his progress as well as making sure that one of the hottest prospects in English football commits his future to the club.
