Kolkata: East Bengal coach Trevor James Morgan is often criticized for his no-nonsense attitude. The British gaffer is not afraid to call a spade a spade and does what he believes is the best for the team. But he has another side of him as well.

It is a common picture for someone coming regularly at East Bengal training in the morning as he is often seen with the stray dogs at the club lawn. He makes it a point to spend a few minutes with them before he leaves for the ground to start his practice session.

Morgan was recently caught on camera feeding a dog with biscuit at the club lawn. He quite enjoys spending time with them before going to the ground or leaving for his home after practice. Later when contacted by xtratime.in he replied via whatsapp, “I wouldn’t say I was a dog lover but I would never see any harm come to them or any other animal.’

India’s ODI captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a self proclaimed ‘absolute pet-lover’. Time and again the man with the midas touch has made known his affection for dogs through social networking sites. Dhoni adopted a rescued stray pup from the ‘Hope and Animal Trust’ in Ranchi in 2013. Other dog lovers of the Indian cricket team are Indian test captain Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Recently more and more athletes are showing off their compassionate side by working with PETA to combat animal abuse. The latest in the list of sportsman showing their love for animals is Trevor James Morgan of more affectionately TJM by the East Bengal fans.
