Kolkata: Kolkata giant Mohun Bagan is only eyeing the Sikkim Governors Gold Cup right now. They have started their practice session today at the Barasat Stadium before leaving the City of joy. The Green and Maroon Brigade will play the tournament on artificial turf and that is the reason they have chosen Barasat Stadium for practice.

Diogo Ferreira and Yuta Kinowaki joined the training today after their arrival. Except them Ansumana Kromah and Dipanda Dicka were also present at the practice. After a bit of warm-up all the players did some practice with the ball. Kinowaki has joined Bagan this season from Shillong Lajong. Mohun Bagan has players like Dipanda Dicka, Sony Norde and many others. According to him it is very tough to prove himself beside these classy players. But it will help him to perform better too. He likes to play in the attacking third and according to Kinowaki his good chemistry with Dicka will help the Bagan team too. He is eager to play the Kolkata derby at the Salt Lake Stadium.

Kinowaki played for Shillong Lajong last season and according to the Japanese the cold weather in Sikkim will help him to play well too as he is habituated with this kind of temperature. He has joined the Mohun Bagan team in place of another Japanese star player Katsumi Yusa who has joined arch rival East Bengal this season. On being asked whether the City of Joy would see the battle between two Japanese, Kinowaki didn’t want to compare himself with Katsumi.

On the Other hand Mohun Bagan coach Shankarlal Chakraborty said,”I have seen the game of Dicka and Kinowaki. But I won’t comment on anything before they dawn the Green and Maroon jersey.”
