Internet Desk: Inaugural Indian Premier League Champions Rajasthan Royals has requested the parent body of Indian cricket, BCCI that they want to participate in next year’s cash rich tournament with a new name,

The franchise which is owned by the Jaipur IPL Cricket Private Limited, wants to leave Jaipur too. According to the insiders the company wants to leave the city too from where they were banned for playing last two seasons. According to a BCCI official the board has received a letter regarding this but the Rajasthan owners didn’t give any proper reason for what they want to do this.

“They have made the request but no reason has been given as to why they want to change the company name,” said a BCCI official to The Indian Express.

Another IPL side Kings XI Punjab have requested the BCCI that they want to move their venue from Mohali. The Punjab based franchise, which is also partly owned by Prity Zinta wants to move their base from Mohali as they said that they won’t get much support from the PCA and local bodies.

“They had bid for Mohali when the first-ever auction took place for IPL teams. So technically, if they want to change their base now, they will have to pay the BCCI. They have made this request earlier too but the board did not agree. The franchise has been facing many issues with the local police authorities. They have also cited lack of support from the Punjab Cricket Association. If they are allowed then chances are that their name will also change. It will be as per the new venue. The IPL GC will take a call on it,” a BCCI official told The Indian Express.
