The Haiti international arrived accompanied his brothers John and Junior to the city of joy. The 30-year-old was the team-mate of arch rival Mohun Bagan's Sony Norde who recently played in the Indian Super League (ISL) for Mumbai City FC. The 6 ft tall striker played alongside his compatriot at Bangladesh club Sheikh Jamal. Anselme has previously represented San Cristobal FC in the Dominican Republic and Aigle Noir AC in Haiti. There were talks between the player and East Bengal for the last five months. East Bengal fans will be hoping Wedson performs well for them in forthcoming I League. He has replaced Ranti Martins, who now plays for Penang FA in the Malaysian Super League. Coach Trevor Morgan will also hope that Anselme will fill up the void left by the Nigerian striker. Meanwhile the club is yet to finalise the other two foreigners yet. They have already signed Ugandan defender Ivan Bukenya.
