Kolkata: After a match winning performance against the arch-rivals East Bengal, Mohun Bagan’s star forward Dipanda Dicka feels that they should have won the match by eight goals if they could have converted all of their chances. The Green and Maroon Brigade thumped East Bengal by 2-0 in a crucial Kolkata derby of I-League thanks to a brace from Dipanda Dicka.

“We should have won the match by eight goals but I am happy with my performance today. My mom requested me to score a hat-trick today but I am also happy with two goals and the second goal was the best according to me,” said Dicka while talking to the media at the post-match press conference.

Mohun Bagan’s new head coach Shankarlal Chakraborty knew that he won’t get the service of star Haitian forward Sony Norde.” I already knew that the team won’t get the service of Sony Norde, but I didn’t panic as it might shatter the focus of the team. I want to laud the spirit of the footballers as they have given their hundred percent in the field today,” said Shankarlal Chakraborty.

The Green and Maroon Brigade’s newly signed forward Akram Moghrabi looked happy to after he made a vital contribution into the game. His brilliant header helped Dicka to score the first goal for the side.”The win was important for the team and not for Akram. I am happy that we own 2-0 and now I want to win all the matches to become the champion. It doesn’t matter to me whether I score or not but the team’s win is more important.”

On the other hand Mohun bagan’s star midfielder Cameron Watson is pleased that he has supported his team in tough situations.” I am very happy today. Everyone played well today and I think in the derby we got an early goal which set the tone in our favour. We kept pushing from there and created more pressure on East Bengal and we were preety confident that we would win the match after Dicka scored the second goal. I am happy that we have given a good farewell to Sony Norde ahead of his departure,” concluded Watson.
