Internet Desk: Did you ever watch Ravichandran Ashwin acting as a mediator. It happened so as the ace India spinner had to intervene trying to stop his teammate from getting involved in a street fight. The ugly incident will definitely remain a black spot in an otherwise popular inaugural season of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL).

The incident happened during a match between Chepauk Super Gillies (CSG) and Dindigul Dragons (DDD) in Chennai, when the bowler picked up a wicket in the high-voltage clash and then exchanged a few words with him and even got physical. Ashwin led Dindigul Dragons lost the high voltage match by 6 runs.

Chepauk Super Gillies spinner R Sai Kishore pushed DDD batsman Jagdeesan Narayan as he got him dismissed caught at short third man. After the dismissal, both Sai Kishore and Jagdeesan got physical. Ashwin, who was watching the whole incident from the non striker end rushed to intervene and stopped his teammate Jagadeesan who wanted to give it back to Sai Kishore.

An animated Ashwin instructed Jagdeesan to leave the ground immediately and shifted his attention to Sai Kishore. He was seen having a word with the bowler as the two were involved in some heated exchanges.

Meanwhile CSG skipper R Sathish and his team-mate Thalaivan Sargunam came in to calm down Ashwin. Things appeared to cool down before the Indian cricketer walked over to the CSG huddle in which the players were celebrating the wicket .

At the post-match press conference, Ashwin and CSG skipper Sathish tried to play down the incident by maintaining that it happened in the heat of the moment and there is nothing more to it. The two captains suggested that it should be buried there itself and the focus should be back on cricket.
