Internet Desk: Sri Lanka spinner Dilruwan Perera brought back memories of Australian skipper Steve Smith’s bitter “brain fade” incident during the recently concluded first of three-match Test series at the Eden Gardens. The incident happened in the 57th over of the Sri Lankan first innings. Perrera on being given out leg before off the last delivery from Shami by umpire Nigel Llong, started walking towards the dressing room but paused for a moment looking at the dressing room. The next moment he was seen turning back towards the umpire and signalling for a review. Though in an official statement Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) said, Having mistakenly assumed that Sri Lanka were out of reviews, Dilruwan Perera had turned to leave the field when he heard Rangana Herath inquire from the on-field umpire Nigel Long if Sri Lanka have any reviews left, to which Mr. Long answered in the affirmative.

India skipper Virat Kohli scored his 18th Test ton in the first Test at the Eden Gardens on November 20. It was his half century of centuries too and he is currently 50 tons behind his idol and legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. It is known to everyone that Kohli and Indian cricket team head Coach, Ravi Shastri share a great relationship. After Perera incident, Kohli too was seen looking at the dressing room yesterday where Shastri was instructing him for something. Kohli was batting on 97, looked at Shastri in the dressing room as it to ask “Should I declare?” However, Shastri asked him to bat for another over and complete his ton, which has clearly not violated ICC’s rules as he was not asking for suggestions regarding taking a DRS or not. With not enough time for his bowlers to dismiss the Lankan’s, Virat’s intention was to put the team’s interest before his personal milestone.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) put out a video, asking fans to decode the conversation of the duo.
