Internet Desk: Indian captain Virat Kohli has been offered by the Adelaide Oval management to host his wedding ceremony with Anushka Sharma at the iconic stadium. It is speculated that Kohli, who is now in Italy will be tying the knot with Anushka in a private ceremony on December 9-11.
With both the families now being in Italy, it only adds to the speculation.
Meanwhile, the Adelaide Oval CEO Andrew Daniels in an interview to Hindustan Times said, “We would be thrilled to host Virat and Anushka’s wedding at Adelaide Oval. How fantastic would it be for Virat to create more happy memories here, considering his outstanding playing history at the Oval.”
Kohli have a terrific record at the venue, registering three centuries in his four test innings. His test average in Adelaide is a staggering 98.5. The venue shall always remain a special one for the Indian captain since he scored his maiden ton at the iconic venue in 2012.
Virat has also scored a ODI century at the venue.
“With 26 purpose-built function spaces to choose from, combined with a showcase of South Australia’s finest food and wine it would be an unforgettable day for the future Mr and Mrs Kohli and their guests,” Daniels said.
Oval recently underwent a massive renovation which transformed the 146-year-old stadium into an exquisite modern stadium after a whopping cost of Aus $535 million was spent. The venue recently hosted the first Day Night Ashes test won by Australia by 120 runs, which helped them take a 2-0 lead in the Ashes.
