Virat Kohli joins elite list on Australian soil

XtraTime Web Desk: India skipper Virat Kohli has added yet another feather on his cap on Saturday. Coming out to bat on day 3 of the first test at Adelaide Oval the run machine became the fourth Indian batsman to cross 1000-run mark on the Australian soil in tests. Kohli needed just 5 runs to achieve this milestone and he did achieve this milestone at an ease.

While doing so the India skipper joined the legends list of Rahul Dravid , VVS Laxman, and Sachin Tendulkar. They are the other four batsmen to achieve this feat. Kohli took just 18 innings to reach this feat and fourth fastest among all the batsmen.

The right-handed batsman was dismissed for just 3 runs in the first innings with Usman Khawaja taking a splendid catch at slips. He came on to bat after India was given a strong start by Murali Vijay and KL Rahul. Australia were bowled out for 235, giving India a 15-run lead at the start of the 2nd innings.
