Virat Kohli becomes quickest to 24th Test hundred after Donald Bradman

XtraTime Web Desk: India skipper Virat Kohli is in the record books again as he became the quickest batsman to reach 24 test tons after legendary Donald Bradman on the second day of the first test against the Windies at Rajkot on Friday.

Kohli who was not out on 72 at the end of day 1, hit a boundary against Devendra Bishoo to reach his ton.

While hitting a ton he surpassed Australia’s banned cricketer Steve Smith to climb to the second spot in the list of tons who are currently playing cricket.

Steve Smith who is currently serving a year ban has 23 centuries under his belt in 64 test matches.

The India skipper now has 24 tons in his 123 innings, on the flipside of it legendary Don Bradman needed just 66 knocks to reach the same feat.

It was the second century of the Indian innings after 18-year-old opener Prithvi Shaw made 134 on day one to become India’s youngest batsman to score a ton on debut.

Kohli also crossed 1000-run mark in Test cricket in 2018 as he reached 124. This is the third consecutive year that Kohli has amassed over 1,000 runs in Tests.

Not only that Kohli is also the first Indian batsman to hit 1000+ runs in three back to calendar years and beside that he is also the only captain to achieve this feat.
