Vijay Hazare Trophy : Bengal lose by 6 wickets against Sourashtra

Manoj-with-Laxmi-and-DindaRajkot , December 18 : Bengal faced the humiliation of losing four out of  their five matches in the on-going Vijay Hazare Trophy . Manoj Tiwary and his team were convincingly beaten by 6 wickets by Sourashtra on Friday . Bengal made two changes today with Wriddhiman Saha and Pragyan Ojha making way for Sreevats Goswami and Debabrata Das . Tiwary won the toss and chose to bat first . Abhimanyu Iswaran and Sayan Sekhar Mondal continued their good form with the bat, putting up 78 runs . Iswaran was unlucky to miss out on a half century as he departed for a well made 48 runs . Sayan was the next man to follow after scoring 34 runs . Sudip Chatterjee missed out on a big knock as he scored just 29 runs with the total on 130 runs . Captain Manoj Tiwary and Sreevats Goswami put on 71 runs for the fourth wicket with the Bengal captain scoring 43 runs . Sreevats too chipped in with 42 runs . Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Debabrata Das remained not out on 23 and 16 respectively to take the Bengal score to 243/5 . DA Jadeja was the most successful bowler for Sourashtra picking up 3 wickets . Sourashtra in reply had a great start from it’s openers . Sheldon Jackson and Samarth Vyas both got half centuries as they put on 136 runs for the opening wicket . Sheldon was run out by Debabrata Das after scoring 50 runs . Samarth missed his hundred falling short by 6 runs . Sourashtra had a slight hiccup with Jaydeb Shah , Rabindra Jadeja getting dismissed in quick succession . But Cheteswar Pujara scored an unbeaten fifty to take Sourashtra to victory 246/4 with 4 overs to go .
