Kolkata: After the like Football greats like Maradona, Messi, Oliver Kahn and Dunga, the city of Joy was graced with the presence of yet another Legendary World Cupper Carlos Valderrama. Touching down at the Kolkata airport at 8:50pm from Mumbai, the Coloumbian legend was accompanied by his wife. He is scheduled to inaugurate the Dada Vs Diego match tomorrow followed by a visit to Mohun Bagan in evening which was previously visited by Maradona and Kahn. After spending a couple of days in Kolkata he will be flying back to his country.
On being greeted with a warm welcome, El Pibo meaning ‘The Kid’ showed deep regards by thanking everyone. The silver coloured fancy Coloumbian Legend knows just a little about Kolkata and that too for Mother Teresa. He also revealed that his National team’s sensation and current No 10 player James Rodriguez is currently playing some brilliant football.
A visually tired Valderrama however answer most of the question in one word and left for his hotel. As of tomorrow he has a packed schedule of events. Within his short stay in Kolkata he will also meet Sourav Ganguly.
Earlier the Coloumbian World Cupper was in Mumbai where he participated in the FIFA Legends match for the promotion of the U17 World Cup. He also inaugurated the World Cup Trophy at the DY Patil Stadium.
