XtraTime Web Desk:  UEFA Champions League, one of the most prestigious competitions in the world of football has reached its Quarter Final stage.

Liverpool Put Three Past in form Manchester City: The first leg of the UEFA Champions league quarter final between City and Liverpool was played at Anfield Yesterday night. Anfield is the home of Liverpool Football Club.

Yesterday’s match was no different. The stadium was jampacked, the supporters came out in huge numbers expecting a Liverpool victory. But it was not to be easy as their opponents were in form Manchester City who had only lost one match throughout the Barclays Premier League season.

The stakes were huge, one small mistake might have cost either of the teams the game. The whistle blew the match started. End to End play from the beginning with both teams trying to breach the other’s defence.

In Form Mohammed Salah pounced in the area after 12 minutes scoring the first goal for Liverpool , Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain doubled their lead eight minutes later when he unleashed a fierce shot past Ederson from 20 yards. The third goal came from a Sadio Mane header following a cross from Mohammed Salah on the Thirty First Minute.

It was game, set and match for Liverpool by the end of the first half and the score was a shocker for most football fans as people did not expect Liverpool to win let alone win by three goals to Nil.

Roma bows down to the mighty Barcelona: The first leg of the UEFA champions league quarter final between Barcelona and Roma was played in Camp Nou, the home stadium to FC Barcelona.

While Barcelona were firm favourites to win the match, Roma put up a good fight.

It was all fair and square until the Thirty Eighth minute when the Spanish Giants went ahead. Daniele De Rossi slid in an own goal from a cross from Andres Iniesta in order to keep the ball away from Lionel Messi. The second goal came from another own goal. This time it was Kostas Manolas in the Fifty Fifth minute.

Barcelona went on to score another, Barcelona Defender Gerrard Pique scored a tap in from Fourteen Yards just four minutes after the previous goal.

EdinDzeko gave Roma the slightest of hopes of a comeback after scoring on the Eightieth minute.

This little ray of hope for Roma was also waived off after Luis Suarez scored the Fourth and Final goal for Barcelona on the Eighty Seventh minute.

The 4 – 1 full time result between Barcelona and Roma was not a shocker for football fans as everyone expected Barcelona to win. In some football matches score lines can be deceiving and this was one of them as Roma had played really well.

The second day of the first leg of the UEFA champions league was a goal scoring feast with a total of eight goals being scored in two matches and from the perspective of a neutral football fan it was a joy to watch.
