Ojha gets an NOC from the CAB

Kolkata: After a lot of drama the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has finally given a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to veteran left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha late on Thursday night to play for his home town Hyderabad for the forthcoming Ranji Trophy season.

Ojha wrote to The Cricket Association of Bengal stating that due to family reasons it is difficult for him to leave Hyderabad.

He also pleaded that it would be detrimental to his career if he missed matches at this stage.

Citing above reasons, seeking NOC from CAB to play for Hyderabad, he requested that the matter may be considered up sympathetically.

The CAB after deliberating on the issue internally has decided to allow him to play for his state.

Stating this CAB Jt Secy Avishek Dalmiya said: “We had received a letter from Prgyan Ojha where he requested for the NOC to play for Hyderabad. The matter was discussed with the President. The matter has been considered sympathetically based on Mr. Ojha’s request to the President and therefore the Association would have no objection if he plays for Hyderabad”

According to the sources, Pragyan wrote a letter to BCCI as well as CoA regarding this matter. He asked them why he won’t get an NOC despite stating that he has some family reasons. After this the CAB decided to give him the NOC to play for Hyderabad.
