Kolkata: Just before the match against Peerless, Mohun Bagan coach Shankarlal Chakraborty has quite a few worries troubling him before the all important derby match against East Bengal. As per the table standings Mohun Bagan is occupying the second spot owing to a 2 goal different against their arch rivals. For being crowned as champions, Mohun Bagan has to win both their games after East Bengal dropped points against Mohammedan yesterday.

After the Peerless game, East Bengal will face Tollygaunge Agragami so the primary objective of the Mariners would be to win the game by a huge margin and thereby inflicting a pressure on their arch- rivals. Among all these equations fresh worries for the Green and Maroon side are the card and injury problems. Kromah, Kamo and Ricky all have a card to their name while Kingshuk Debnath is set to miss the next owing to two card accumulations. Young Azharuddin who scored a brace against Mohammedan SC suffered a leg injury owing to bone elongation, while Shilton D’Silva is expected to be back in the squad after recovering from his hamstring injury.

Probable Lineup against Peerless:-

Shilton Paul, Ricky, Kingsley, Bikramjit Singh (Jr), Arijit Bagui, Reynar Fernandes, Shilton D’Silva (Surchandra), Nikhil Kadam, Azharuddin (Chesterpaul), Kromah, Kamo.

As both the star forwards Kromah and Kamo are in a good form, it can be expected that they start the game and if the Mariners win by a comfortable margin, then they would be replaced.

No matter how much relaxed Shankarlal may seem, he is still under a lot of pressure after reaching the flag end of tournament.

“Azhar has trained today but he is still suffering some pain while walking let’s see what we can do. As of now I am only concentrating on the Peerless game and we have set our plans accordingly. Had we won the Rainbow then also the target would have been to win the all the games” said Shankarlal Chakraborty.

“For being the champions, winning the derby is a must however the most important game is to win the Peerless match as it is vital for us to stay in the championship. I have seen the East Bengal match and if the defence stays like that it would be beneficial for us to score. I had also seen the previous derby held at Siliguri where Azhar and Sony scored. It is a great feeling to watch the game and it is inspiring me especially winning against East Bengal is always special” said Kromah.
