East Bengal’s new Ghanaian target Murtala Seidu Bancey gets huge applauds from the club’s ASEAN Cup winning Ghanaian legend Suleh Musah. East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar told www.xtratime.in , “Suleh Musah has personally told me that Seidu is a top quality forward and he is extremely lethal in front of the goal.”

The Red and Gold club official also stated, “We have been planning to send Manoranjan Bhattacharya in Ghana to see him personally. We might see him in the Calcutta Football League as well before offering him a long-term contract.”

Having released all their foreigners, East Bengal have already named the prospective replacements even before the preparation for the domestic season could start. Ghanaian international striker Murtala Seidu Bancey and Zambian defender Ziyo Tembo are expected to trudge on to the field for the CFL wearing the Red and Gold.

Seidu Bancey is a fleet-footed striker who plied his trade for ES Zarzis in Tunisia. The right-footed striker is known to be good in link-up play and is powerful against slow defenders. He also played for top Turkish football club Galatasaray in 2016. Seidu is just 27 years old and represented Ghana four times in his international career. He signed a two-year contract with Egyptian Premier club Smouha Sporting Club in September 2014, but mutually agreed to terminate the contract, due to the situation in Egypt.

These are short term signings and are aimed to provide cover for the domestic Calcutta Football League season.
