Internet Desk: Two-time Indian Super League Champions ATK played out a goalless draw against Kerala Blasters in the first match of ISL season 4.  According to ATK coach Teddy Sheringham his side played better football than the hosts on Friday.

“A lot of effort put into the game. It was all about keeping the ball. I thought we did it slightly better than Kerala. The way we performed, I felt we were the better team,” the former Manchester United player said on Friday.

“If it were a boxing match, we’d have won. I was satisfied with the performance, we took the game to Kerala,” Sheringham added.

He also gave an update on the injury list of the defending champions. “I think Ashutosh (Mehta) would be the first one to be back in training next week. There’s a knee issue with Jayesh (Rane) which we’re not too sure about.”

“Carl Baker (achilles tendon) is more long-term than that. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the injections can keep him better”, he said.
