Kolkata: East Bengal got all important three points against Chennai City FC in their first away match from Kolkata and to climb up in the second spot of I-League.

Red & Gold Brigade’s foreign international Charles d’Souza was in extreme pressure before the match because there were rumors that he might be released by the club due to his poor form, but his goal against Chennai gave him a much needed boost. After coming back to Kolkata Charles said, “As a striker I always want to score goals. I am happy as the team got full points.”

East Bengal team looks very fit while the rivals Mohun Bagan has been suffering from injury after playing at Barasat. The Red & Gold Brigade did not get any injury in Chennai’s poor ground. For this fitness, however, the physical trainer Garcia has to be credited. Garcia said, “It’s not only my achievement. Everyone has  it is totally dependent on hard work. ”

As East Bengal will play their next home match against Gokulam FC the Goan footballers like Cavin Lobo, Luis Barreto won’t have any chance to celebrate the Christmas and New year with their families.”We are professional footballers.  We have to play for the club. We are happy to be able to give the team three points in the away game. Now our aim is to win the I-League and we want to pay attention about doing it successfully.”
