Internet Desk: Zinedine Zidane’s French 1998 World Cup-winning squad came forward for a special cause to play a game of football and rugby to support some special kids.

It has become something of a tradition every couple of years, the team led by Zinedine Zidane, competed in the match that was made up of one half of football, and the other half rugby sevens all for the benefit of “A Smile, a Hope for Life”, which aims to help sick children.

The side, with Zidane as captain and also featuring Fabien Barthez, Bixente Lizarazu, Laurent Blanc, Vincent Candela, Alain Boghossian and Didier Deschamps, took on Top 14 club Toulon. A full house of almost 20,000 packed into the rugby side’s Stade Ernest-Wallon to watch the event, which was won in the end by Zidane’s legends after 6-2 score in the first half was followed up with a 15-15 draw in the second.
