Internet Desk: England football fans were waiting to see their team winning an International tournament for such a long time, and last night their U17 footballers gave the fans some happiness after they bagged the FIFA U17 World Cup for the first time at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
The Young Lions came back from behind as they were trailing by 0-2 in the final clash against Spain. In the second half of the game the England U17 colts showed their tough character on the pitch and thrashed the Euro Champions 5-2 to clinch their maiden title. England U20 team too won the FIFA U20 World Cup couple of days back.
English Premier League’s Liverpool sensation Rhian Brewster won the golden boot for scoring eight goals in the tournament, on the other hand Man City’s new prospect scored a brace to help his side to win the final. He was also adjudged Man of the tournament.
Current and former England senior team footballers too congratulated Steve Cooper’s team on social media.
