This Aussie kid is a Kohli fan

Debasis Sen, Adelaide:
Virat Kohli not only continues to inspire little ones in India but here in Down Under as well. The Indian captain has a die-hard fan here in Adelaide. Seven-year-old Sage was at the stadium on Sunday with his dad and mom to watch his role model. The little one was closely following Virat’s actions from the front row seat at the Adelaide Oval. He was spotted wearing an Indian jersey with Virat Kohli’s name across the back.

Sage got into cricket inspired by Kohli at the age of 3 years old. The little boy plays recreational cricket at the moment but will get into the club system the following year, when he is old enough, loves to bowl.

“Sage must have been three or four and we would watch cricket together. Virat caught his attention because he loved the energy that he brought to batting and just the way he hit the ball,” says Karim, who is the father of Sage.

Sage was a touch too late to watch his favourite cricketer bat, getting to the Adelaide Oval only the fourth day of the first Test, but he wasn’t too disappointed. The young munchkin’s only dream is to meet his role model one day. And that dream is not far from becoming a reality as the message has been conveyed to the Indian dressing room. The Indians along with Virat will be returning to Adelaide for the second One-Day International in January. You can be sure the little man will be pestering his parents to bring him back to the ground then.
