The Pressures of Being Cristiano Ronaldo

A story…it’s quite hard to believe it…but its true…the hero and villain of this story is same- Cristiano Ronaldo…

On 27th February Real Madrid lost to Atletico Madrid unexpectedly. The loss dealt a telling blow to Real Madrid’s title hopes as they now trailing Barcelona by a huge margin.

Every Real Madrid supporter can understand this fact. Even Cristiano Ronaldo himself is aware of this fact, that a miracle can only see Real Madrid emerge as champions in La Liga. That’s why may be he didn’t want to take responsibility solely! “If we were all at my level may be we would be leaders.”

First of all, it is unfaor on the part of Ronaldo to undermine his teammates who were a part of his success. Gareth Bale, Tony Kroos, Marcelo, Ramos- each and every player is an inevitable part of Ronaldo’s success. Real Madrid has won La Liga, Copa Del Rey alongside the 10th UEFA Champions League in 2014 (La Decima). Can Ronaldo claim he single handedly won the UCL for Real Madrid? Ramos’s head had saved the day for Madrid.

Secondly, if we all admit that Ronaldo said the right thing then what’s wrong in that? You have to be special that’s why you are Ronaldo. If you were like any other footballer no one would have remembered your name. You pocket millions as you are the best in the business. That’s the only reason supporters and club officials have the faith and trust in you.

Last but not the least, Real’s dressing room’s atmosphere became very clear with Ronaldo’s comments. Arch-Rivals Barcelona did not miss the opportunity to dig Real on Ronaldo’s comments. Barca Vice-president, Jordi Mestre told,”Our team’s players would never say what Cristiano said. The club monitors a lot of things before signing players. Honestly, I could not imagine one of our players saying what Cristiano said.”

Ronaldo says he does not need to share “little hugs and kisses” with Real Madrid teammates Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale, amid suggestions that the trio’s lack of harmony is hindering the club’s progress as a whole.

Their Barcelona counterparts Messi, Neymar and Suarez are known to enjoy a close relationship both on and off the pitch, which has been cited as a major factor in the Catalans’ continued success.

“In the Manchester United team that won the Champions League [in 2008], I did not speak with [Paul] Scholes, [Ryan] Giggs and [Rio] Ferdinand, beyond ‘hello’, but we had a great team,” the Portuguese said.

“I don’t have to have dinner with Benzema or invite Bale round to my house. What is important is on the pitch. I do not need little kisses and hugs.”

“It’s normal [that people have doubts about me], or that’s how I see it. It’s like with a son, you give him everything and when you didn’t give more, they will cry,” he added.

“I face it as a normal situation. I wish I can keep playing this bad until the end of the season.

“I feel good and happy, in a club that gives me affection. I always play; I score goals from time to time. I cannot be happier. I’m at the best club in the world.”

Ronaldo left the pre-match press conference with an annoyed look in Roma on the eve of the Champions league clash against Roma.

Is it true? Quite a few days have passed in between where MSN have become a hit in the football world and they have been a huge topic of discussion whereas BBC has not been so successful like MSN and Ronaldo’s comments are specifically justifying it.

The entire football world got very furious after Ronaldo made this comments specially his teammates. Although Cristiano had already apologized to his teammates but will this be enough??? Now if some of his team mates raises question about his credibility then what will be the answer of World’s richest footballer?
