Internet Desk: Virat Kohli led India is currently facing neighbour Bangladesh in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 semifinal. The two sides will be eying to register a convincing win against each other, but maybe even unknowingly both the countries are connected with each other through literature.

Virat Kohli and his men sung their national anthem Jana Gana Mana on the flip side of it  Mashrafe and co. sung Amar Sonar Bangla just before the second semifinal match at the Edgbaston today. But why these two national anthem are different than other national anthems.

Here is the reason.

These two national anthem were written and composed by Nobel Prize winner and world renowned Bengali poet, Rabindranath Tagore.

He wrote Amar Sonar Bangla in 1905, and later in 1911 he composed Jana Gana Mana.

Jana Gana Mana was officially announced India’s national anthem by the country’s first President, Rajendra Prasad on 24th January 1950, just a couple of days before India’s constitution was declared. On the other hand Bangladesh adopted Amar Sonar Bangla as their national anthem on the year of their Independence in 1971.
