Surabuddin Mullick scored a brilliant hattrick while the other two were scored by Plaza and Gabriel. Two brilliant moves by coach Khalid Jamil turned the game on it’s when he brought in Surabuddhin Mullick and Gabriel in the second half. The first real opportunity in the game came in the 10th minute of the game when Plaza missed a header after he received a delightful cross from the centre. Due to torrential rain the game was stopped for 3 minutes in the 12th minute mark as some portion of the ground got water-logged. The deadlock was broken in the 31st minute when a cross from Mahmoud Al Amna was headed home by Willis Plaza who scored his maiden goal in the league. The 36th minute saw Rahim Nabi making a center which headed by Dodoz and the ball struck the goalie Luis Barretos’s hand and got stuck in the mud. Had there been no mud in the ground Peerless would have equalized. However Peerless equalized four minutes later when Rahim Nabi scored from a corner of Anil Kisku. The score remained 1-1 at half time. Surabuddin came in place of Ralte in the 57th minute while Gabriel came in place of VP Suher in the 61st minute. The second goal came in the 70th minute when a corner from Samad was passed by Plaza to Gabriel who finished it calmly. The 74th minute saw Gabriel taking a corner which was headed home by Surabuddin Mullick. The fourth goal was scored two minutes later when a shot was taken by Chullova and Surabudding who scored the goal with a sliding attempt. 92nd minute saw Surabuddin scoring his hattrick when Gabriel crossed it to Samad who kept a low centre in the box and was finished by Surabuddin who made it 5-1 for the Red and Gold. Coach Khalid Jamil was happy with his team’s performance and made it certain that none of the players were in any problem to play in muddy field as his team has practiced in such conditions.
