Xtra time[/caption] Kolkata: Former Indian footballers and the government of West Bengal paid tribute to the “Diamond” system implementer in Indian football, Amal Dutta in his last ride. Former football stars of Bengal joining the tributary party echoed that he did not get due respect from the AIFF. This morning at 7 a.m. the body of Amal Dutta was taken to the original residence at Ganesh Talkies from his Baguiati residence. Former goalkeeper Debasish Mukherjee, Sumit Mukherjee were present at Ganesh Talkies. PWD, Youth Affairs and Sports minister of West Bengal, Aroop Biswas along with state minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Laxmi Ratan Shukla went to pay tribute to the legendary footballer. From the Ganesh Talkies residence the body was taken to Rabindra Sadan at 9:30am. Indian football legend Chuni Goswami was present there. In a deep grief Chuni Goswami said, “The tussle between P. K. Banerjee and Amal Dutta in the 90’s not only made the Indian football interesting but also enriched it. He was the first implementer of foreign style in Bengal football. His soul might rest in peace.” Amal Dutta Mb Students of Amal Dutta, Satyajit Chatterjee and Prasanta Banerjee were also present there at Rabindra Sadan. Both of them claimed that he was a coach to recognize junior footballers. Satyajit Chatterjee said, “Amal Dutta was a coach who did not dare to take risk and used to favour junior footballers. As a junior player I was not selected before the final match of Durand Cup of 1986. Before the final he rushed me from Kolkata to Delhi to play against East Bengal. We won the final.” Prasanta Banerjee echoed what Satyajit had said. He said, “He was a coach who used to prefer junior footballers. He used to guide them and was not at all afraid of fighting for them against the club managements.” Apart from these former footballers Syed Naimuddin, Samaresh Choudhury, Surojit Sengupta, Utpal Ganguly were present at Rabindra Sadan. Naimuddin expressed his anger over discrimination on Amal Dutta. “As I got the Dronacharya award he also deserved more respect from the Indian Federation as a modern-minded coach. “ mamata banerjee Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid her tribute there too. She said, “farewell of Amal Dutta, Sailen Manna is unfulfilled lose. A street will be named after him. Many stadiums are on the way of making in Bengal. One will be named after him too.” Amal Dutta Eb The convoy with the body reached East Bengal club at 12pm. Club President Dr. Pranab Dasgupta and official Debabrata Sarkar were present there to cover his body with red and yellow flag. Former footballers and coaches of the club Shyam Thapa, Aloke Mukherjee, Manoranjan Bhattacharya, Bhaskar Ganguly, Atanu Bhatatcharya were present there. Along with the other students of Amal Dutta Manoranjan Bhattacharya also said, “When I joined East Bengal I was the junior most. The tactics Amalda used to play on the field and I the dressing room reduced pressure of a junior.“ Chuni Goswami accompanied the convoy upto the Mohun Bagan club. Present head coach Sanjoy Sen along with club officials Debashis Dutta and Srinjoy Basu, goalkeeper Sandip Nandy were present there. Former India international Chuni Goswami along with officials covered the body with the Green and Maroon flag. Sanjoy Sen said, “Amalda is no more.
