Sabyasachi Bagchi, Kolkata: If Virat Kohli and Team India shared all the spotlight in the middle during the 2nd ODI today at Eden Gardens, a different team was the centre of attraction in the stands. Team “Cockpit” hogged the limelight along with Cricket Association of Bengal President Sourav Ganguly. Tollywood heartthrob Dev was accompanied with his co-stars Koyel Mullick and Rukmini Mitra. They were invited by Sourav to witness the match tonight at the Eden Gardens.  The entire star cast of Cockpit was the C Block of Eden Gardens.

This is not the first time experience of watching an international match at Eden Gardens for Dev. The last time he was seen at the iconic venue was during the ICC WorldT20 match between India and Pakistan.

“This is my second experience of watching an International cricket match live at the Eden Gardens. The first time I saw a match here was the World T20 match between India and Pakistan,” said Dev to xtratime.in.

An avid cricket lover, Dev is also a huge fan of Indian captain Virat Kohli.

“I love watching him (Virat Kohli) bat. How can I miss watching two of the best teams in world cricket?” replies Dev.

Having grown up in Mumbai, Dev is passionate about cricket. Sharing his experience to xtratime.in, Dev said, “I have grown up in Mumbai. I used to play cricket at Shivaji Park when I was a kid. I just love the sport.”

Cockpit hit the silver screens tomorrow across the country. The film directed by Kamaleshwar Mukherjee is being produced by Dev Entertainment Ventures. Asked to comment how tense is he feeling as it is only the second film under his banner, Dev said, “I would be lying if I say I am not tense with the release of the film. Dada (Sourav) has supported me a lot in my venture. He was present during the music release of the film and has extended his support for the promotion of the film. He invited the entire star cast of Cockpit to watch the match.”

For Koyel Mullick, it is nothing new to come and watch a cricket match at Eden Gardens.

According to Koyel, “I remember coming with my father to watch a match here at the Eden Gardens. I do not exactly remember which match it was. I have been coming to Eden Gardens since my childhood days. I am invited quite some times by Shahrukh to watch KKR’s (Kolkata Knight Riders) home matches during IPL.”
