Kolkata: Shashank Manohar is all set to get an extension as International Cricket Council chairman. The former BCCI supremo is expected to continue his post in the ICC as per indications during the quarterly meeting here.

Manohar, who was elected as the first independent chairman of the ICC is believed to get a majority of votes. His extension will be one of the key points of discussions in the five-day quarterly meeting that began here yesterday.
“Is there a challenger fray? Elections will take place only in June, this is only a prelude. There is no authentic challenger,” a member said here today.

“A challenger means an authentic challenger under the rules of the ICC. It’s only in the media who are putting up overseas candidates,” he added.
