Xtra Time Web Desk: The Men's Selection Committee on Friday announced India's squad for the first two Tests against England. Rohit and his boys are set to play a 5-match Test series, the first of which will be held in Hyderabad from January 25, 2024.

Mohammed Shami will not feature in the first two tests as he is yet to recover fully from the ankle injury, he suffered during World Cup 2023. The fast bowler from Amroha missed the T20I series against Australia at home followed by the tour to South Africa. He was also not picked for the ongoing Afghanistan series.                                                                                                                                                            

Uttar Pradesh wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel receives his maiden call-up to the test team. He will be the third keeper-batter after KL Rahul and KS Bharat.

As expected, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja and Shreyas Iyer returns to the test squad after being rested for the three match T20I series against Afghanistan.
