XtraTime Web Desk : Cristiano Ronaldo was back to his best again, as he scored agaist Villarreal to send his team Manchester United into the last 16 of the Champions League. The United team were passing through a tough phase in the Premier League recently and this Champions League match against Villarreal proved to be a redemption for them.

At the start of the match, Manchester United weren't outright favourites as both Villarreal and United were level on points in the Champions League. The recent form of the Red Devils and the turmoil which they are going through right now, owing to the sack of their Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was blown away by a few second half substitutions and one moment of magic from Cristiano Ronaldo. At the 78th minute of the match, he scored a goal to put his team ahead in the match. And after that there was no stopping. Jadon Sancho scored the second goal of the match in the 90th minute to help the visitors seal a 2-0 victory over their Spanish rivals in Spain itself. Along with that the performances of David De Gea and Bruno Fernandes also proved to be vital for the Red Devils.

It was also a night to remember for the Ronaldo fans as his goal against Villareal took his tally to 6 goals in 5 matches in the Champions League this season. With the team going through to the round of 16, it would be interesting to see how Manchester United and Ronaldo fare in the tournament.
