Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India captain Rohit Sharma got hit in his left thigh while batting in the nets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium ahead of the game against Afghanistan on Tuesday. The Indian captain did look in some discomfort. But he did continue batting for another few minutes before he went into the dugout.

It was an optional practice session with the likes of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ravichandran Ashwin, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah not turning up.

The highlight of the practice session was Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma having an extended knock in the nets. Ishan, who got out for a duck in the first game against Australia at Chennai did not look comfortable facing the local net bowlers. Suryakumar Yadav was the pick of the batters as he played some attacking shots.

Shreyas Iyer, who too had a disappointing outing against Australia was seen having a brief discussion with Head Coach Rahul Dravid.

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill is recovering after being discharged from the hospital in Chennai. With the comprehensive win against Australia, the Men in Blue will look to carry on the winning momentum against the Afghans.
