XtraTime Web Desk: Roberto Mancini appointed as the coach of Italy National team. Former Manchester City manager agreed two years deal with Italy national team. Giampiero Ventura sacked after Italy failed to qualify for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Manchini stepped down from his post in November, insisting he was happy in his current role as boss of Zenit St Petersburg.

Now Manchini looks to have change his mind and look to start his job before the friendly against Saudi Arabia on May 28.

Mancini had a secret meeting with Italian Football Federation chief Alessandro Costacurta and thrashed out terms.

Carlo Ancelotti was favorite for the job but, he decided to join in a European club. Speculations going on as he could be on Arsenal’s radar.

Meanwhile former Manchester City boss won the Premier League title between 2009 to 2013.

He also got Serie A title with Inter Milan and enjoyed cup success at Lazio, Fiorentina and Galatasaray.

He has been in charge of Zenit since June 2017.
