Internet Desk: Finally a much awaiting verdict came out in favor of Indian wrestler Narsingh Yadav. The probe panel of NADA cleared him from the doping charges. As per the decision of Indian Olympic Association now he can travel to Rio.

Ending the suspense of the last few days, NADA DG Naveen Agarwal read out a statement clearing Narsingh. “There is no fault and negligence on Narsingh Yadav’s part, he is a victim of sabotage done by a competitor,” said Agarwal while reading out the verdict.

Narsingh was the Indian contender of 74kg Freestyle wrestling from India to Rio Olympics. He was the Bronze Medalist of last year’s World Championship. From there he got the Olympic berth. After that he fought a long battle with former Silver and Bronze Medalist of past two Olympics to clear himself for the Rio Olympics.

Still misfortune did not late him. He failed the dope test conducted by NADA twice. Narsingh was tested on 25th June. That time both the sample- A and B were tested positive. Following that report of NADA hewas provisionally suspended. His accreditation for Rio Olympic was also in hold. Further the sample collected on 5th July also tested positive.

However, the iron heart wrestler kept eyes focused on Olympics. The 26-year-old had maintained that the failed test was the result of a conspiracy by his opponents to stop him from participating in the Olympics. He also lodged a complaint with police.

Today Narsingh was present when the verdict was read out at NADA headquarters at New Delhi. He said, “I am very happy, I cant wait to win for my nation in the Olympics”.

Finally the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel echoed the Rio-bound wrestler. “We kept in mind that in the past, till June 2, none of his samples were positive. It was inconceivable that one-time ingestionwould be of benefit. Therefore the panel is of the view that the one-time ingestion was not intentional,” said Agarwal.

The Indian Olympic Association also clarified that there is no hindrance for Narsingh to go to Rio. “He has not been penalised by WADA codre or World Federation. It was a decision taken by a local body which has been done properly again after proper investigations so that it goes in his favour,” IOA vice-president Tarlochan Singh.

He also added, “It’s a healthy sign for Indian sports. He can very easily reach Rio and join the Indian team. NADA has taken time but has taken proper decision”.
