Internet Desk: India’s challenge in the archery women’s individual event ended after archery Bombayla Devi lost 26-28, 26-23, 27-28, 23-25 to Mexico’s Alejandra Valencia in the pre-quarters at Rio 2016 Olympics on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, India’s ace archer Deepika Kumari crashed out of the women’s individual event after a heavy defeat at the hands of Chinese Taipei archer Tan Ya-Ting in the pre-quarters.

Deepika suffered a 28-27, 29-26, 30-27 loss and with this, her Rio Olympics journey came to an end. She had also participated in the London Olympics where she had lost in the first round. Atanu Das is the only hope for India now as he will take part in the pre-quarters on Friday. Stay tuned for all the updates from Rio 2016 Olympics
