Internet Desk: Ahead of his first tour to Sri Lanka as India cricket team coach, Ravi Shastri said that people like former coach Anil Kumble and himself will come and go from the post but it is the Indian cricket team which has worked hard a lot to become the world number 1 Test side in the world.

“I have matured from the last time I went to Sri Lanka. The team has done really well and more than anyone else, they deserve the credit. The credit should go to the team. If they are number 1 today, they deserve the credit. People like Shastri and Anil Kumble will come and go,” said Shastri at the press-conference before leaving for the Sri Lanka tour.

Skipper Virat Kohli has said that his Indian team will take a lot of positives from their last Sri Lanka series in 2015 and will look to win the series again, which starts on July 26.

“It has been 24 months (since India’s last tour of Sri Lanka) and players have matured from that but it was the start of the belief system that we can win any conditions and we do have the side to win away from home. We have created a culture that we can win a Test of a series in any condition. The mindset was immediately to win the series and losing the first Test came as a shock to us but the way we bounced back was only because of the team culture that we had created,” said Kohli.

“As you said that an away series is coming up and we will go with the same mindset which we built in 2015,” Kohli added.
