Ranji Trophy 2018-19: Manoj Tiwary slams 201* against Madhya Pradesh, silences his critics

Bengal captain Manoj Tiwary slammed his critics for a six with a timely double hundred in the Ranji Trophy fixture against Madhya Pradesh at Eden Gardens on Tuesday. Tiwary, leading from the front scored 201 not out as Bengal declared their first innings on 510/9. His 279 ball innings was studded with 20 fours and four hits to the stands. This was Manoj’s 5th double ton in first class cricket. For statistics this was Tiwary’s second double hundred against the same opponent few years back in Ranji Trophy at JU campus.




A lot of water has flowed over the Ganges in the last few weeks with the Bengal captain under a lot of criticism from a certain quarters. Batting with a specially designed SS bat which had his new born son’s name Yuvaan on it, Tiwary looked all fired up before walking into bat Tuesday morning. The gesture said it all the moment he went on to the three figure mark, that of a relieved captain. His 25th century in first class cricket was witnessed by his mother and elder brother at the clubhouse.
