Internet Desk: Punjab has recovered well after being reduced to 44/4 against Railways at Palam Air Force Ground. Uday Kaul and Gurkeerat Singh Mann are batting on 59 & 66 respectively. The pair together put on an unbeaten partnership of 110 runs for the fifth wicket. Punjab captain Yuvraj Singh scored only 9 runs before falling prey to Manjeet Singh.

Punjab, replying to Railways’ 331 all out, was 177 runs behind at close of play.

Railways, starting the day from overnight 257 for five, could add only 74 runs to the total.

Punjab medium pacer Siddharth Kaul was the pick of the bowlers, ending with a five-wicket haul.

Later, Uday and Gurkeerat showed maturity to bail their team out of a tough situation. Gurkeerat was the aggressor in the partnership, hitting 10 fours and a six.

Punjab’s reply came after opener Shivakant Shukla and Ashish Yadav took Railways to a competitive first innings total.

In another match Tamil Nadu has taken a slender lead of 64 runs against champions Mumbai with 4 wickets in hand in the second innings. Vijay Gohil took 3 wickets while Dhawal Kulkarni returned with two wickets. Top scorer for Tamil Nadu was their captain Abhinav Mukund who scored 56 runs. Tamil Nadu at one stage was 107 for no loss as Mukund and Washington Sundar shared a century opening stand. TN was soon reduced to 150/6 after Dhawal got the wicket of Sundar caught behind by Tare.

Earlier Mumbai were bowled out for 176 runs in reply to Tamil Nadu’s first innings score of 87 runs. Aditya Tare was the top scorer for Mumbai with 48 runs.
