Image Source: BCCI[/caption] Internet Desk: Indian women’s cricket team displayed a brilliant performance against the hosts South Africa to win the quadrangular series by 8 wickets on Sunday. Batting first South Africa posted a target of 156 runs to win for the visitors. India’s star bowler Jhulan Goswami was the pick of the bowlers as she took 3 wickets for 22 runs in 8 overs. While chasing the target Mithali Raj and Poonam Raut scored unbeaten fifties to help the visitors to clinch a convincing win over South Africa. India skipper has touched another feat today after becoming the country’s most successful captain- among both women and men as she has the percentage of 61. In the early part of the tournament, India’s Deepti Sharma and Poonam Raut scored tons against Ireland and shared a record stand of 320 runs which was the highest partnership in any women’s ODI game. Teenager, Sharma hit 24 boundaries and two gigantic sixes to score 188 runs in just 160 deliveries. Raut scored 109 before retiring hurt shortly after the dismissal of Sharma. India scored 358 for two before and bowled Ireland out for just 109 to record a 249-run victory in a quadrangular series which also featured the hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe.
