Image Source: XtraTime[/caption] Kolkata: A special condolence meeting was organized at the Mohun Bagan club tent of Late Shibaji Banerjee today to relive the memories of the legendary goalkeeper who breathed his last a few days back. Former footballers like Chuni Goswami, Syed Nayeemuddin, Prashanta Banerjee, Surajit Sengupta and the officials of Mohun Bagan paid their tribute to the famous goalkeeper who was termed as a "Tie-breaker goalkeeper" for his ineffable success rate in saving penalty kicks. A minute of silence was also there to show the humbling respect to the man who has given so many golden memories to the Green and Maroon supporters. Dronacharya Syed Nayeemuddin gave a proposal to rename the best goalkeeper of the year award as Shibaji Banerjee Trophy. Mohun Bagan physical trainer Djair Miranda Garcia broke into tears in the memory of the former technical committee member of Mohun Bagan. Former footballers recapitulated their memories surrounding the Bagan legend. Swapan Sadhan Bose(Tutu Bose): Shibaji's condolence meeting has united all of us. This is the way to live our lives. We should not fight within ourselves and if the former players can live unitedly like this, football will be benefited. Anjan Mitra: Shibaji was there in our Technical Committee. He pleaded me so that we could give the membership to his son. We have decided to call an executive committee meeting and hand him over the cliub membership. Chuni Goswami: He left all of us in a time which was pathetic compare to his age. His eversmiling face will be always remembered. Prasun Banerjee: We spent almost twenty years in together. I just can't attend to his funeral. Goutam Sarkar: In 1978, in the Santosh Trophy, he showed tremendous character and asked to play Bhaskar Ganguly in his place to give courage to the young goalkeeper. Debashis Dutta: We could give a perfect tribute to the legend, only if we manage to win the I-League title. That would be a perfect gesture.
