XtraTime Web Desk: Mohamed Salah scored twice in either side of the break to help Premier League champions Liverpool register a 3-1 victory over Brighton at the Amex stadium on Wednesday night. This was the 30th win from 34 games for the side from Anfield, making them the fastest to 30 wins in the history of Premier League. The previous record was held by Manchester City who registered 30 wins in 35 games during 2017-18 seasons. In another Premier League fixture City demolished Newcastle United 5-0 at Etihad stadium. Liverpool is now on 92 points from 34 games, 23 points clear of second placed City.
Liverpool took an early lead against Brighton as both Salah (6’) and Jordan Henderson (8’) were on target. Leandro Trossard reduced the margin for the home side just before the break. Salah was once again on the scoresheet when he nodded home from a corner from Andy Robertson in the 76th minute of the match.
In another Premier League fixture, City thrashed Newcastle 5-0 at home. Gabriel Jesus (10'), Riyad Mahrez (21'), David Silva (65') and Raheem Sterling (90’) scored for City while Federico Fernandez conceded an own goal in the 58th minute.
