Internet Desk: Mahendra Singh Dhoni led Indian cricket team created history by winning the inaugural season of the ICC World T20 World Cup in 2007, but the cricket fraternity would always remember the tournament for Yuvraj Singh, who took the tournament to a new height by hitting six consecutive sixes in an over against star England spinner Stuart Broad at Kingsmead on this day ten years back.

India’s star openers Gautam Gambhir (58) and Virender Sehwag (68) gave a good start to the Men in Blue in a Group E match against England. After Robin Uthappa’s dismissal Yuvraj Singh came to the crease in the 17th over of the game. After his arrival the star Indian batsman involved in a verbal spat with Andrew Flintoff which ended in a mass destruction by Yuvraj Singh over helpless Broad.

BCCI took to Twitter to remember the day and wrote: “On This Day in 2007 – @YUVSTRONG12 smashed Six 6s in an over #Yuvraj #Legend.”

Yuvraj hit the first ball over midwicket for a huge six, the spectators saw the left hander flicking the ball behind square-leg for another six. The third one went over covers. Broad bowled a full toss to Yuvi and Yuvi did nothing wrong to hit it over backward point. The fifth biggie again went over mid-wicket and the sixth and the final six again was hit through Yuvraj’s favourite mid-wicket zone. He also brought up his fifty in the process off just 12 balls.

This fiery knock from Yuvraj took India to a mammoth of a score of 218 in their 20 overs. In reply England could only managed to score 200/6 as Kevin Pietersen scored 39 off just 23 deliveries. Vikram Solanki was the top scorer for the English men as he hit 43 runs in just 31 deliveries.
