Xtra Time Web Desk: India will not play a Day/Night test during its forthcoming tour Down Under. Virat Kohli and his team will play a four test series against the Aussies but none will feature a pink ball test which has been a showpiece of the past three Australian summers.

The Border-Gavaskar series will begin in Adelaide on December 6. Cricket Australia though is still hopeful of hosting the Day/Night test against India. According to James Sutherland, CEO of Cricket Australia, “It is our preference that we play India in a Day-Night Test match in Adelaide, but we are still working through this detail and hope to have an answer on this in the coming weeks.”

India will play the second test match at WACA on December 14 followed by Boxing Day test match in Melbourne Cricket Ground. The fourth and final test match of the series will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

“The Border-Gavaskar Trophy promises to be a bumper series, and it will be headlined by the world famous Boxing Day Test at the MCG,” Sutherland said. “There, we will also deliver a large-scale community festival in partnership with the Victorian Government, which will be a terrific celebration of Indian culture.”
