Kolkata: The National Cricket Club won a 3 match limited overs series against a visiting Meghalaya U-23 team on Tuesday .

NCC U 23 team won the series 2-1. It also won the T20 game. The matches were played at Rifle Factory High School Ground, Ichapore and Videocon Cricket Academy, Salt Lake, Kolkata. The brief scores are as follows:

T20 Match on 19 February 2016

Meghalaya U 23 – 68 all out, NCC U 23 – 70/3,

NCC U 23 won by 7 wickets

 Meghalaya U 23 – 207 all out, NCC U 23 – 208/2

“This was a part of the exchange programs which NCC has entered with Meghalaya Cricket Association. As a full member of BCCI, it is our duty to work towards growth and development of cricket in other states as well”, said Avishek Dalmiya, President of NCC, who incidentally is also the Chairman of New Area Development Committee, BCCI.

The discussions with Meghalaya Cricket Association as well as other associations in the North Eastern states took place in Mumbai recently on the sidelines of the Special General Meeting of the BCCI.

“More such events would be organised by us shortly. We are confident that our club would continue to play a vital role in development of cricket in the country. In fact, talks with other north eastern state associations for similar exchange programs have already been initiated”, said Mr. Niraj Kajaria, Honorary Secretary of NCC.

Mr. Sourav Ganguly, Chairman of Cricket Committee of NCC and also a Member of the Executive Committee of NCC gave away the prizes to the players and offered a motivational talk to the budding cricketers in an interactive session at the NCC premises.
