National Badminton Championship: Saina wins the battle of supremacy against Sindhu to clinch the title

Internet Desk: In the Clash of Titans star Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal beats her compatriot and Rio Olympic Silver medalist PV Sindhu to clinch the women’s singles title at the 82 Senior National Badminton Championship at Nagpur on Wednesday.

Saina won the battle of supremacy in tough two games by 21-17, 27-25 in a nail-biter.

Saina took an early lead in the match as she won the first game 21-17 to put pressure on Sindhu.

The World No.2 though fought back in style in the second game to take the lead at the break. In the second half the star Hyderabadi shuttler showed her class again to get back the lead at 19-18. Both the shuttlers showed why they are the best women player of the country right now. In the meantime the rio Olympic Silver medalist PV Sindhu saved five back to back match points against Saina in the second game.

Saina though held her nerve at the end to win the match as well as the title with a margin of 21-17, 27-25. This was the very first time that the two best women shuttler of India face each other in the national championship.
