Internet Desk: World No.11 HS Prannoy maintained his tagline of ‘giant killer’ as he beat his fellow compatriot and current world no.2 Kidambi Srikanth to clinch the men’s singles title at the 82 Senior National Badminton Championship at Nagpur on Wednesday.

Prannoy won the battle of supremacy in tough three games by 21-15, 16-21, 21-7 in the grand finale.

Just like their last meeting in the French Open Super Series semi-final, Prannoy took an early lead by winning the first game, but newly crowned World No.2 Kidambi Srikanth fought back well to level the game 1-1.

But the the World No.11 didn’t do anything wrong like he did in Paris in the decider. Prannoy took a healthy lead of 11-3 at the mid way of the final game, and finally he bagged the match and the title with winning the game 21-7.

Another battle is on the cards in women’s division as World No.2 PV Sindhu will lock horns with Saina Nehwal who holds the 11th rank in the BWF rankings in the grand finale. This will be the very first time that the two best women shuttler of India face each other in the national championship.
