Internet Desk: The annual Wipro Chennai Marathon normally conducted in December, has been postponed as a mark of respect to the late AIADMK Chief and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, the organisers said on Wednesday.
“Chennai Runners announce the postponement of the Wipro Chennai Marathon. The event was originally scheduled to be held on December 11”, a press release said.
“This decision was taken as a mark of respect towards demise of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa”, it said.
The expo, scheduled to be held on December 9 and 10, has also been postponed.
“The organisers will announce the revised dates shortly”, it added.
Jayalalithaa passed away on December 5 after a prolonged illness.
